This calming gel is the development of the French Irsea Institute and is produced by a licensee under its own name. The previous licensee ("EQUANIMITY") has ceased production. The new licensee is now marketing the identical product under a different name: SECURE HORSE FLASH
This revolutionary product relaxes the horse in stressing situations and prevents and treats equine behavioral disorders. SECURE HORSE FLASH®, an innovative horse healthcare product is the first and only semiochemical analog of maternal equine signals. The gel is to be applied below the nostrils. The horse notices the odor signals immediately. A unit of the gel (a packing strip) is effeczve for up to two hours.
SECURE HORSE FLASH® can be used both as prevention treatment and as part of a therapy program.
Using a proprietary synthetic analog of maternal chemical signals, SECURE HORSE FLASH® creates a safe environment for your horse.
Whether living wild or domesticated, horses are often confronted with physical or mental stress.
Overreacting even in the absence of danger, physical and mental anxiety can lead to pathological conditions and phobias.
Early detection and management of equine stress is essential for the horse’s wellbeing and for its performance.
As soon as anxiety is detected, it is essential that the horse recovers its composure as quickly as possible.
Semiochemistry is the chemical means of communication used by living species. These signals provide direct access to an individual’s emotional and physiological state.
The principle is now established and the effectiveness of semiochemistry is recognized worldwide.
The "list" of ingredients is very short:
- the carrier gel consisting of water, glycerine, antioxidant and preservative (to ensure shelf life) as well as
- the copied "drop of smell" of the mother's pheromone. Its production is as secret as that of a perfume and is the result of the company's intensive research.
This means that SECURE HORSE FLASH has fewer ingredients than any moisturiser, because it should not even penetrate the skin (on the contrary!), but should remain under the nostrils for as long as possible to exude the smell. This is why it is also used during tooth cleaning (and saves sedation with all its ingredients!!) and is approved for sport horses, e.g. in competition or during transport for calming: In contrast to conventional sedatives, it does not have a chemical effect on the body but activates the unconscious memory in the horse's brain, which knows this smell from the mother mare as calming.
